The EVENTS:review initiative, endorsed by the Events Industry Alliance (EiA), has been created with the specific intent of encouraging greater levels of interest and ultimately expenditure across the fragmented gamut of event opportunities, venues and services facilitated by the industry.
Chief Executive and Founder of EVENTS:review, James Latham, commented:
"Im thrilled by the level of support the industry has already pledged, and particularly by industry leaders such as ExCeL who have agreed to co-sponsor the home page. Using IPTV as a means of promoting our industry is a natural progression from the first channel that we launched in 2000 - www.telecomtv.com.
"We always knew that the marketing community would be early adopters of streaming media, not just as consumers, but for distributing content for their own businesses. We are very excited about the impact that EVENTS:review can make for the collective interests of the industry, and particularly in selling the medium, thus teeing up the opportunity for organisers, venues and agencies alike to sell their individual wares."
Latham has pulled in a heavyweight team of journalists to produce content headed up by former European MD of George P Johnson, Neil Jones, and a support act including joint editors-in-chief Ian Whiteling and Pete Roythorne (three-sixty, Marketing Week, Media Week, the Times Educational Supplement), plus Margareta Pagano (Sunday Times and Financial News), Celia Ellacott (BBC) Robert Coren (UATV) and Kent Barker (Today Programme and former New York correspondent at the BBC). Industry commentators include Live Marketing News's Richard John, Vivid Interfaces MD Geoffrey Dixon and James Gower at the BMF.
Director of Content, Neil Jones, added:
"Given that the marketing world is shifting toward intimate relationship-based tactics, event marketing is now at the forefront of any marketing strategy and already commands a significant share of spend. EVENTS:review will produce content in a unique rich media format that will help the broader marketing and business community improve their event performance and further capitalise upon the live medium."
EVENTS:review will be opening up dialogue with other content providers seeking extended distribution and also with community owners within the industry with a view to encouraging added push of the news and reviews coming out of studio.
