The Marketing Communication Consultants’ Association (MCCA) has announced that the Best Awards 2008 are now open. This year you can choose from 28 individual Best Awards in the following groups: Best Campaign, Best Creative, Best Agency, Best Client, and Best Professional Development.

The 2008 awards also see the addition of a new category, Best Professional Innovation by an Agency, which can be about any innovative idea developed by an agency aimed at greater industry professionalism. On top of this, there are additional awards to be won at the discretion of the judges who will also nominate work for the MCCA Marketing Week Awards.

The Best Awards are all about recognising breakthrough creative ideas, as well as razor-sharp strategies and amazing results. Entries will be judged by a panel of top agency people and leading clients, and the final results will be announced at The Best Awards Dinner, in March 2008, in London, where winners will be presented with their trophies and all shortlisted nominees will be featured in a gallery of work.

“The Best Awards combine creativity and effectiveness. To win one you've really got to be best at both,” said Roisin Donnelly, marketing director of P&G and chair of the client judging panel.

MCCA managing director Scott Knox, added: “The power of ideas should never be underestimated. They reverse opinion, smash through barriers and sometimes change the world, and it’s the power of these ideas that the MCCA is celebrating. So, if there’s one award worth picking up, it’s a Best Award.”

The closing date for entries is 12pm on Thursday 4 October 2007. Late entries may be submitted up until 12pm on Thursday 11 October 2007 provided that they are paid for at the late entry rate. Full entry details and application form are available at www.mcca.org.uk.

Entry is open to bona fide practitioners in marketing communications and consultancy who are either existing members of the MCCA or can fulfil the MCCA qualification criteria. Any queries regarding the awards should be referred to Belinda Tournier or Jan Johnston on 020 7535 3550.
