David Pegler has been appointed as managing director (MD), exhibitions, conference and events at London venue ExCeL London.

In a change of structure, Pegler will head up the Sales Divisions across the company, a role that was previously split, with exhibitions being handled separately from conferences and events.

Due to the high demands on its space and prior to the completion of the Phase 2 extension, ExCeL has reported that it felt it was necessary to change its internal commercial structures to “deliver the best and most efficient use of its space, while still focusing on delivering first class customer service”.

Pegler’s reign begins 10 November. Commenting on the appointment, ExCeL’s chief executive Kevin Murphy said” “I am delighted to announce the appointment of David Pegler. He was my first choice and it is testament to ExCeL’s standing in the market that we have secured his services. David knows and understands our business and will fit in with ExCeL perfectly.
