THA Group gains total control of Belgium operation

The flurry of investment activity at marketing communications agency THA Group continues with founding shareholder and chairman Kevin Ingram recently acquiring Parc Paradisio’s 50% share of THA's Belgian business, following his acquisition last month of the shares of partners Nick Robinson and Ian Williamson.

THA, a key player in the live events industry, first established its European presence in 1998 by opening a Brussels office and acquiring the well-established incentive house Meetin’c, then owned by Theo Verbraecken. In 2005, a merger with Nikitra Belgium – owned by Parc Paradisio – created THA Nikitra, a team dedicated to developing cross-border projects and to growth in Europe.

Tina Joris and Pascale Godijns remain as directors in Belgium, but now, alongside Heather Robinson and Kirsty Dean in the UK, report into THA Group’s newly formed global sales and account management team led by chairman and president Kevin Ingram. Joris and Godijns will focus on supporting THA’s key clients and developing new business, while Kathy Van Nieuwenhove moves to a global finance role, reporting directly to chief executive Darren Gilbert.

“Having total control of our Belgian operation puts THA Group in a very strong position in Europe,” said Gilbert. “We have a high-calibre, award-winning team in Belgium already, so we are ideally placed to build upon this. Client programmes will be managed by the local team, but with all the additional resources of a larger and much more responsive Group.”

THA Nikitra won Planner of the Year at the 2006 Belgian MPI Gala Awards. Clients include BMW, Citroen, Chrysler, Ingersoll Rand, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, Nokia, Phillips and SAP.
