Marketing Communications agency TRO flies in the face of the credit crunch by opening a third operating site in East Anglia to coincide with confirmation of 10 new business wins in recent weeks.

“We set ourselves a target of new business wins for each year, but this year we have managed to secure a bumper portfolio of good quality, innovative new projects,” said chief executive Rob Allen. “These come from a mix of existing and new clients, and will perfectly complement our ongoing client activity.”

The success stories stem from a range of industry sectors, and included the appointment to project manage the finals of a European football tournament organised by Samsung for its reseller network, which took place England on 21 and 22 May, to coincide with the Champions League Final. The event was managed on behalf of international marketing services agency, Cheil Worldwide, which was overseeing the project as part of Samsung’s ongoing Channel Marketing and Chelsea Sponsorship Activation Strategies.

Further successes include BMW extending TRO’s contract to redesign the hospitality village at BMW PGA Championship Wentworth, as well as the company creating a BMW brand presence at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, and to design the MINI stand at the 2008 British International Motor Show.

Additionally, Honda (UK) Press and PR has appointed TRO to create a brand experience for media guests, which will involve a series of unique racing events showcasing and bringing to life the full Honda product range including its flagship event at the British Grand Prix.

Meanwhile, new client Juniper Networks, leader in high-performance networks, has appointed TRO to design and build its stand presence at software technology exhibition Softnet.

With respect to work in progress, two mobile experience units for use by the RAF Regiment as part of its outdoor recruitment drive have just been completed by TRO. The contract was won towards the end of 2007.

TRO’s creative centre is in West London, but the agency has maintained two bases in East Anglia, including an eight-acre site providing the hub for its event support operations. Its third operating site at Wymondham, Norfolk, known internally as Gateway 11, was opened in April. So far it has provided the training base for 27 newly recruited event support staff.
