This imposing Edwardian venue located on Hallam Street in London’s West End, is currently undergoing a rejuvenation programme, which will see it restored to its former glory.

The refurbishment of the stunning listed features on both the inside and outside of the building is complemented by Cavendish’s comprehensive fit-out of the latest conference facilities and audio-visual presentation technology. The result, claims Cavendish, will be “the creation of a spectacular and contemporary environment conducive to the creation of successful conferences”.

London's latest: The refurbished Hallam Conference Centre is to open in January

Encompassing seven individual areas, all with natural light and air conditioning, the Hallam Conference Centre can accommodate from three to 350 delegates. Accessibility is excellent, with the venue being conveniently located between Great Portland Street and Oxford Circus underground stations, and just minutes’ walk from popular shopping areas and visitor attractions.

At the heart of the building, which dates back to 1913, is the Council Chamber on the first floor. Its double-height ceiling and over hanging balconies evoke a feel of a bygone age. There are also the Regent, Marylebone, Euston, Oxford and Warren Suites offering a variety of flexible facilities. Meanwhile, on the lower ground floor will be the Hallam Café, to provide an area for people using the smaller rooms to use to “graze, dine or relax”. This area will feature comfortable contemporary lounge-style seating with free internet, wi-fi and television facilities, in addition to a spacious dining zone. Cavendish promises catering will be provided by award-winning food experts, with an unrivalled range of organic and Fairtrade options on the menu.

Cavendish also claims that the Hallam will continue the company’s commitment to reducing the conference industry’s carbon footprint, and that every effort has been made to ensure it will be one of the greenest conference centres in London.

“The Hallam is a splendid building steeped in history,” said Cavendish Conference Venues director Tom Mayers. “It will complement our growing portfolio of venues, all of which have their own identity and unique characteristics. The space and location certainly meet our requirements. Combine this with our ability and knowledge to design and equip a conference centre which exceeds our customers’ expectations, and we are confident the Hallam will be in demand among conference organisers looking for unusual and unique London venues.”
