Masters students at the UK Centre for Events Management at Leeds Metropolitan University will be using their creative talents to the full on the MSc Events Management course thanks to a new partnership with global communications agency THA Group.

The national and international MSc Events Management students will respond to an actual brief set by THA Group and, in teams, will pitch their ideas in January. The winning team, alongside passing their assignments, are being rewarded for their efforts with an invitation to participate in challenge activities at an international event in 2008.

THA’s director client delivery specialists, John Hooker, visited the college last month to meet with MSc students and explain the assignment, while answering questions about the company’s work.

“This partnership provides a great opportunity for our company to engage with future event specialists and strategic leaders,” said Hooker. “The challenge we are setting these events postgraduates will enable them to apply academic creative theory and processes to a real event scenario.”
