Crowne Plaza Reading sticks its oar into teambuilding

Capitalising on its river location, the Crown Plaza Reading has added rowing to its portfolio of team-building products for the corporate market, in conjunctioon with the Reading Ladies Rowing Team.

The hotel claims rowing presents the perfect team-building event as it “demands that each team member participates at all times – each individual in the boat is vital to the direction of the team and the balance of the boat. With return on investment at the top of every event planner’s agenda it is imperative that money is wisely spent and business messages are imparted effectively and efficiently. Rowing succinctly demonstrates the need for individuals to realise the importance of their contribution to the whole team."

Paul Rogers, the hotel’s general manager, said: “With the river at the foot of the garden, this is an activity that can be carried out without having to take the delegates off site. Rowing is a fast-growing sport – hardly surprising when the messages it engenders are applied to the corporate market.”

Courses are held throughout the year and can be tailored to each organisation’s needs. Priced at £99 per person (minimum eight delegates), the courses can be bought as part of the hotel’s Day Delegate package.
