The heads of two of meetings and events industry organisations will join forces later this year in the renowned Global Enduro Rally in a bid to raise in excess of £20,000 for charity.

Robert Wright, the managing director of business tourism PR and marketing agency Davies Tanner, and Philip Hughes, managing director of Ice Box, the UK's leading ice sculpture, ice design and ice art specialists, will spend 14 days trekking across the challenging terrain of India in one of the country’s most iconic motor vehicles, an Ambassador.

The duo will be raising money for the people of Kodaikanal, a town in the Palani Range of Hills in South India, where the proceeds of their fundraising will be donated to The Adventure Ashram Project, which is working towards improving the standard of living in the area through the implementation of new education and health facilities.

"Philip caught me off guard and persuaded me, over probably far too much wine, that driving through India with him for two weeks and sleeping in tents was somehow a good way for two middle-aged blokes to behave," said Wright.

EVENTS:review will be following their progress on the trek. Look out for more information on how to donate on this channel.
