Experiential agency RPM walked away from the recent GRAMIA (Grocery, Advertising and Marketing Industry) Awards with the Brand Experience Agency of the Year gong.

The Awards took place at The Brewery in London on 4 October, and were judged by a panel of influential marketers from companies, including Kellogg’s and Auto Trader, as well as industry luminaries, such as the former joint chief executive of advertising agency BBH, John Bartle.

Hugh Robertson, managing partner of RPM, which also had three nominations at this year’s Event Awards, commented: “I am truly ecstatic that our hard work has been recognised by GRAMIA – it’s the leading awards competition in the FMCG sector, and it’s voted for by the people that matter: the clients.”

Describing how important the award was to RPM, Robertson said: “It’s fantastic profile for us, and it’s for the FMCG clients we work with. A fantastic and hard-earned addition to the trophy cabinet – if only we had one. This will create a tremendous sense of achievement among our staff. It's a very motivating force to feel your hard work is being recognised and rewarded accordingly.”

The GRAMIA awards are about rewarding creative and campaign excellence. Of the entries within the Golden GRAMIA for Brand Experience, there were two web-led projects and two truly experiential campaigns. “They are probably one of the most diverse awards, covering above-the-line as well as below-the-line,” continued Robertson. “They are currently the premier awards within the FMCG sector covering packaging, outdoor, radio, TV and cinema, consumer and trade PR, and national press.”

RPM also won a GRAMIA in the Brand Experience category for its work on Smirnoff Ice: Uri’s Garden, where the agency built a campaign which brought real snowball fights to urban locations in the height of summer.

Other winners of the GRAMIA Agency of the Year award in their respective disciplines included AMV BBDO, Hill and Knowlton and Presky Maves.
