SSP UK, a division of SSP, the international food travel company, has hired event production agency Line Up to organise an annual staff conference for over 500 employees from across its UK rail  business.

SSP UK Rail is responsible for managing over 400 bar, catering and convenience outlets in railway stations throughout the UK, including many well-known brands such as M&S Simply Food, Starbucks, Whistlestop, Millie’s Cookies, Burger King and Upper Crust.

The purpose of the one-day conference is to review corporate strategy across all areas of the business and to share information and best practice across brands.  It will be staged at the Birmingham Metropole Hotel in late November, alongside an exhibition by numerous brands which supply SSP UK Rail outlets.

A team of Line Up content producers will be on site during the day, shooting and editing elements of the exhibition, ready for a screening as part of the evening’s programme of entertainment.

“This event has become one of the most important key events of our annual calendar and we’re delighted to once again have the support of the Line Up team, whose proven dedication and professionalism has become an invaluable resource to us,” said Tony Keating, managing director of SSP UK Rail.

Commenting on the use of video during the event, Line Up managing director Duncan Beale said: “Filming live events we’re involved with and editing footage on site for playout during that event creates a rich live experience for delegates, and an instant take-away record of the event to cascade to others.

“It’s something we’re doing more and more often as clients seek to extract maximum value from their events.”

SSP has operations in airports, train stations, motorways, retail parks and conference centres, in 31 countries worldwide and employs more than 26,000 people.
