The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC) has announced a 30% expansion in capacity on the third floor. The Centre is now able to offer a maximum capacity of 1,300 seated theatre-style by combining the Fleming and Whittle rooms, a development which will see clients benefiting from an increased choice and flexibility in booking their conferences and events.

Over £1 million has been invested in the third floor expansion. The project involved stripping the room back to its shell and installing new power, IT and AV cabling so that it is more easily available to clients in 270 new floor boxes. And visitors to the Centre now have access to cutting-edge technology, including the introduction of fibre optic tubes.

“We are excited to announce the significant news of the Centre’s expansion," said Stephen Norcliffe commercial director/COO at The QEIICC. "This additional meeting space will allow us to offer an increased scope for future meetings and events, as a result improving flexibility for whole centre bookings and enabling us to help those clients that are looking to grow their events.

“The increasing interest in London as a destination choice in the run up to the Olympics is set to continue post 2012, as with previous Olympic destinations. The QEIICC’s expansion will help us to accommodate this extra interest."
