Air Malta and the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre (MFCC) have announced a strategic partnership agreement, aiming to “synergise the strengths of both organisations and promote Malta as a MICE destination”.

The agreement is set to enhance the promotion of Malta abroad through joint participation in overseas fairs, workshops and in joint marketing and promotion campaigns. This cooperation is, therefore, also expected to generate substantial benefits to the local tourism and service industry stakeholders.

“Air Malta, brings to this partnership a network of around 50 destinations, with offices in most European major cities which can help promote Malta’s strategic assets,” said the airline’s chief executive Joe Cappello. “We believe that through this partnership, both Air Malta and MFCC can together offer a better product to their customers and capitalise on their respective expertise in their market. Over the coming months both organisations will be working together on various projects and initiatives in the MICE business.”

It's a deal: MFCC’s Anita Attard and Air Malta’s Joe Cappello shake on it

MFCC is Malta’s largest and newest venue, which has increased the island’s potential for the MICE market. With the ability to host conferences for 5,000 plus delegates, exhibitions, music events and gala dinners, the venue is reconfigurable for multi-purpose use. Alongside the venue, the MFCC team has the creative ability to maximise the Islands’ most beautiful assets into event sites, offering a vast range of services to make any experience as unique as possible.

“This is a win-win situation where all our marketing expertise is being combined to make our efforts more fruitful,” said Anita Attard, MFCC’s chief executive. “We want to highlight Malta as the ideal MICE destination, with great transport links to the island and our large-scale venue, complimenting its beautiful surroundings, great hotel network and unique event sites that provide a wow factor!”
