Storm Troopers, Power Rangers and robots invaded Telford’s International Centre as part of a sci-fi spectacular.

The one-day MCM Expo selected the venue for its first outing in The Midlands, and organisers said they were delighted with its success. The event included attractions for sci-fi fans of all ages, and visitors had the chance to see the latest games and merchandise, anime, manga, comics and robots. They also met well-loved characters from Star Wars, Doctor Who, Alien and Power Rangers, with both exhibitors and enthusiasts attending from all over the UK.

Bryan Cooney, for the organisers, said: “The first Midlands MCM Expo was, without doubt, a huge success with over 4,000 enthusiasts visiting the event in just one day. And now, we have booked a two-day event for September this year at the same venue, as The International Centre was certainly very convenient and hassle-free.

“We are looking forward to the September show, and to working with the Centre again to hopefully build on the excellent start we have made in The Midlands, with a view to growing the show still further.”
