Event Awards celebrates 10 years with bumper gong handout

This year celebrated 10 years of the Event Awards and saw the venue moved to London’s Natural History Museum on Friday 14 September. Four new awards this year saw the overall award tally pass the 30 barrier… sadly EVENTS:review didn’t have enough tape to film the awards this year.

Topping the evening for Best Exhibition Activity was IMIE’s British International Motorshow, sharing the headlines was Richmond Event Management’s HMS Clyde Naming Ceremony. Unlike 2006, there was no one company sweeping the board, as this year saw a host of names making it into the role of honour (although IMIE went home with three of the Gold slabs).

The moment of truth: Event editor Mike Fletcher
gets excited about the big winner!

Event Magazine editor Mike Fletcher was effusive in comments to EVENTS:review: "Feedback from this year¹s Event Awards has hailed the ceremony as the best ever. The venue looked stunning, the food by Rhubarb was superb and the overall production and presentation was perfect. I am immensely proud to have been involved with an event of such a high standard for this our 10th anniversary year. There was a good spread of winners as well, which represented the standard of experiential activity currently taking place."

Fletcher was keen to point out that the small agency took as much of the plaudits this year. "The judges were so impressed with the boutique agency Richmond Event Management and its naming ceremony for the HMS Clyde that they awarded Mike Richmond the trophy over and above the large global agency work," he said.

Fletcher also praised The London Motor Show, which "thoroughly deserved its best of the best award for its reinvention of a motoring event concept that was previously considered a dying breed in the UK".

EVENTS:review would like to congratulate all the winners.
