Securing a key role in yet another high-profile UK event, live marketing agency Jack Morton Worldwide is to be the lead producer of the National Commemorative ceremony to mark the 25th anniversary of the liberation of the Falkland Islands. This is the showpiece among a series of events, to be held between 14 and 17 June, to commemorate the achievements of all those involved in the conflict.

The hour-long ceremony will take place across 8,000 miles and four time zones – linking Horse Guards Parade, London with San Carlos in the Falkland Islands. The event will take place on Sunday 17 June at 2.30pm.

Central to the event will be the personal recollections of veterans and Islanders as they tell their stories in their own words. A high-impact visual event on Horse Guards Parade will include a tri service muster, and a traditional Drumhead ceremony. The commemorative event will be followed by a march past of veterans and their modern day service counterparts. This will proceed up The Mall to the Queen Victoria memorial to witness a flypast of aircraft from the Falklands era, as well as some of those flown by the same squadrons today.

The event will be shown live on BBC Television. Jack Morton Worldwide is working in collaboration with the broadcaster for the Ministry of Defence.

“The Falklands Conflict is not only a very significant historical event, but also personally touched the lives of a great many people,” said Lois Jacobs, president, international, Jack Morton Worldwide. “We are honoured to be asked to produce the National Commemorative Event.”
