Marketing Birmingham has stuck out on its own to promote the UK city as an events destination on the world stage, outside of the umbrella of VisitBritain. On its stand at IMEX earlier this year, Marketing Birmingham’s commercial director, Ian Taylor, told Richard John why the organisation’s going it alone, and the importance of taking an experiential approach.
