Hever Castle has made a commitment to become environmentally friendly and energy efficient by installing a brand new biomass woodchip heating system for the Castle, Astor Wing and surrounding properties on the estate.
An application for a grant from the UK Government has been successful and work on the new system is well under way. It’s completion is expected to be in November 2008.
In addition Hever Castle is also pleased to announce the development of a new special relationship with Phillips, the electronics company, who are working with the Castle and Astor Wing to gradually introduce improved energy efficient lighting throughout the site.
Duncan Leslie, Chief Executive of Hever Castle said: “Developing these measures together will dramatically reduce the carbon footprint that Hever Castle has. We also want to ensure that all of our clients and visitors recognize Hever Castle as a destination that is committed to being greener.”
