Revealing the growing economic importance of meetings and events, famous North West England seaside town Blackpool, home of the iconic Blackpool Tower, has appointed specialist venue and destination development consultants to review its conference offer.

“It is essential that we progress our conference offer if we are to compete in the current economic environment,” said Natalie Wyatt, head of conferencing for Visit Blackpool, the town’s marketing body.

“We are determined to understand in detail what our current capability is, where the market is moving and how Blackpool can best develop its conference facilities to optimum effect. We are looking forward to the results of the study.”

The Right Solution has been commissioned to audit Blackpool’s venues and evaluate the overall business tourism offer for the town in order to provide a current, comprehensive view of the market potential for the destination.

“With this new study, Blackpool is taking concrete steps to review its facilities and evaluate market potential in an increasingly competitive market,” said Right Solution director Sally Greenhill. “We are delighted to have been appointed and will provide the analysis and information required for Blackpool to shape the future of its business tourism strategy.”

The Right Solution is keen to hear feedback from conference and event organisers on their own experiences of Blackpool. Anyone wishing to contribute should email sallygreenhill@rightsolution.co.uk
