Winter sports show sells out 7 weeks early

The Metro Ski & Snowboard Show has sold out ahead of the event for the first time in its history. Although the total floor space increased for 20% from 2006, a waiting list has been created to meet the high levels of demand.

Building on the success of the 2006 event, which introduced a new format and new features resulting in a 26% increase in visitors, the show’s organisers claim that  this year’s event is set to be even more spectacular. A hugely successful re-book followed the 2006 show, which kick-started the 2007 event to the delight of show manager Damian Norman, who put the event’s popularity down to knowing the audience and a policy of constant improvement.

"We have reached this landmark by continuing to evolve and improve the show concept, combined with the ability to understand the needs and expectations of our visitors,” he said. “This has only been achieved by the sheer energy and enthusiasm of the team who are extremely passionate about Snowsports. The show has successfully built on its credibility as the largest, cutting-edge wintersports event in the UK.”

In October 2007, the show will introduce, in addition to last year’s favourites, six new features. With the focus set on an interactive event experience and action for all age groups and skill levels, the event includes ice skating, skiing and snowboarding lessons, ice climbing and live ice carving, all within the admission price. What’s more, revealing even more foreward thinking, as the show takes place during the school half-term holidays, children under 11 will be admitted free, plus there’s a crèche available.
