Amadeus, The NEC Group’s external catering business, has secured a three-year contract to supply catering services to the Barclays Scottish Open, held at Loch Lomond, Scotland, from 12-15 July, 2007.The deal means that Birmingham-based Amadeus will be responsible for providing the catering for sponsors, corporate hospitality patrons and their guests, spectators, the media and 156 professional golfers from around the world.
To feed everyone involved in the competition, nine kitchens and 11 restaurants will be set up in marquees in the grounds, with some £500,000 of equipment and resources being transported over the border from the NEC.
Jayne Devlin, general manager of Amadeus, said: “Contracts are usually only renewed one year at a time, but the European Tour visited the NEC and were really impressed with the solid commitment to the catering brand, the experienced team, and the ongoing investment and development. All of this, along with the past experience of catering for the event gave them the confidence to sign us for the next three years.”
