Major event organiser Reed Exhibitions today announced that Brenda Daly, former executive vice president of dmg (UK) and most recent chairman of the Association of Event Organisers, is to join the business on 1 October 2007 as a divisional managing director of Reed Exhibitions (UK).

She will be responsible for a $40 million portfolio of events and a team of over 50 people. Daly will be based in Richmond and will report to Alastair Gornall, chief executive of Reed Exhibitions (UK).

Brendy Daly, highly experienced operator

Commenting on this appointment, Daly said: "After nine good years at dmg, I am ready for a new challenge, and I am extremely excited about the vision and dynamic expansion plans of Reed Exhibitions. I am delighted to have been offered the chance to be part of its senior management team and very much look forward to working with them."

Gornall commented: "Brenda is a highly experienced operator and we could not be more pleased that she has chosen to join our business for the next stage in her career. We have major global expansion plans in the pipeline and I know that Brenda's experience will add an exciting new dimension to our team."
