According to the Keynote Report (Exhibitions and Conference Market, 2006) hotels account for over 66% of market share of the £11 billion meetings and event market in the UK. But, could all this be about to change?
Mounting costs associated with running hotels (such as oil and gas prices) means that many are looking to raise the average delegate spend per head. Add this to the often busy environment and you can see why many companies shy away from these venues as a place for corporate meetings.
The Business Club at 140 Aldersgate Street, EC1, which opened last December, thinks it’s come up with the perfect answer: a specific meeting and event concept where privacy, security and discretion are assured, with full hospitality and concierge service on site.

Nice doing busines with you: Will hotels soon be loosing
out to dedicated business meeting spaces?
The Business Club focuses on offering modern spaces, cutting-edge technology and personalised service for companies looking for a prime location for small board meetings, confidential presentations, events, training and interviews.
Laurent Brydniak, Business Club’s client relationship manager, said: "The premise of The Business Club is to provide an exclusive and intimate setting for conferences and events. Our rooms have been sympathetically designed and equipped to the highest standards allowing us to respond to our client's ever changing needs.”
