Following the success of its Great Big Home and Furniture Store NEC, Media 10 has announced The Great Big Home and Furniture Store Earls Court on 28-30 September 2007, to capitalise on the pre-Christmas Sale period.
The show, which is marketed not as an exhibition but as a no-frills shop floor, will transform Earls Court into Central London’s largest home and furniture store for three days at the height of the Autumn sales. It will offer visitors the widest choice of style, colour and prices available all under one roof and participating companies the chance to compete in the Autumn sales, and with free entry.
“Participating companies benefit from massive TV, radio, press and outdoor advertising campaigns, matching the exposure of the major furniture and homeware sheds that dominate the sale periods,” explained Media 10’s Lee Newton. “Also, because it’s not marketed as an exhibition we’ve eliminated the need for stands, shell schemes, lots of staff and all the usual exhibition associated costs and potential problems. These in turn lead to savings for the organiser, exhibitor and customer alike.”
The NEC event attracted over 25,000 active shoppers (not day trippers) who took advantage of the in-store finance packages and home delivery service.
Of the NEC events, Newton said: “Our intention was to create something that really did feel like a great big furniture store and that is exactly what happened. With leading brands as well as smaller less well-known companies, visitors were offered an unrivalled choice of sale bargains, many of which you can’t easily find on the high street. The results speak for themselves. We look forward to repeating this formula in 2008.”
