Melville Exhibition & Event Services, part of GES Worldwide Network, successfully unveiled its revolutionary new electrical exhibition stand system at the Homebuyer and Property Investor Show 2008, which took place from 7-9 March at ExCeL London.

Melville Smartwire integrated itself seamlessly into the company’s existing Sodem and Octanorm stock, creating a totally new and improved experience for shell scheme exhibitors in particular, being clean, green and quick to install.

Smartwire has many advantages when compared to conventional methods of providing power and lighting to shell scheme stands including:
• Faster installation – Smartwire reduces considerably the time taken to install electrics on a shell scheme stand
• Flexibility – moving sockets, lighting and all peripheral electrical is much faster with Smartwire
• Sustainability – Smartwiresm is totally reusable, with no cable wastage and using low wattage fittings
• Aesthetic Improvement – Smartwire’s ability to integrate itself fully into a shell scheme means it delivers vast improvements in the look and feel of a stand, with no exposed wiring, PVC tape or cable ties used
• Reduced stand cleaning – as Smartwire does not use conventional cabling, the amount of cleaning required for shell scheme stands becomes minimal, with no electrical wire offcuts or sleeving left behind after installation

Smartwire certainly impressed Homebuyer Events event director Kelly Talbot, who commented: “Due to the flexibility of the system, our installation time was reduced and exhibitors really enjoyed the benefits of sockets and lighting being moved so quickly and easily – even the cleaners applauded it because of the vast reduction in waste. In all, it didn’t disappoint in any shape or form, undoubtedly adding to the overall Homebuyer show experience, with the feedback gained so far from our exhibitors being without exception very positive.”

Meanwhile, Melville chief executive Nick Marshall said he was delighted to have successfully introduced the product at the Homebuyer and Property Investor Show 2008, following months of research, development and investment. “Melville Smartwire will undoubtedly revolutionise the way we traditionally look and handle exhibition electrical installations and only further our reputation for delivering exciting and innovative products into the marketplace,” he commented.
