Stirling Castle has hosted many a banquet over the years, and its culinary history was added to last month when local celebrity chef and award-winning businessman Nick Nairns took over the culinary helm at the venue.

“It is an honour to have Nick Nairn involved with our hospitality catering at Stirling Castle and we are very excited to be working with the company,” said Gillian Macdonald, sales & marketing manager for corporate events at Historic Scotland. “The Castle’s Great Hall is Scotland’s largest medieval banqueting hall, so who better than one of the greatest chefs in Scotland to fill it with delicious food?”

The corporate function market has expanded year on year with Stirling Castle welcoming over 80 corporate events last year alone.  Many businesses require a venue with impact and the Castle certainly has that wow factor.  From gala dinners to medieval banquets, the venue endeavours to cater for every need, with the only hard decision left for our clients being who to put on the guest list.

“With Nairns influence, we are confident 2007 will be our best year yet,” continues Macdonald, “providing our corporate guests with an unforgettable experience at one of Scotland’s most magnificent venues.’

Nairns passion passion for Scottish local produce means that menus will be sourced from local suppliers with local ingredients.  Simplicity is key, allowing guests to experience the real flavour of fresh produce without any pomp or ceremony.

Menus will include such delicacies as roast Gressingham duck breast, ‘Scrabster’ sea bass, organic smoked Scottish salmon and even the loin of Roe venison dish cooked by Nairns for Her Majesty the Queen in 2006.
