Not content with putting events firmly on the marketing agenda, EVENTS:review (ER) has now succeeded in alerting the media in general to the growing popularity of the live medium, after the web channel recently made the shortlist for a gong at the Association of Online Publishers Awards.

ER has been nominated in the category Best Editorial Team – Business, along with five other nominees including CNET Networks UK for silicon.com and ZDNet.co.uk, E Financial News for Financial News Online, Incisive Media for IFAOnline and Reed Business Information for XpertHR.

Not only does the nomination firmly establish ER as the best online live marketing and events medium, but it also places the web channel among the top six business websites in the UK.

“I have believed for a long time that EVENTS:review is one of the most innovative business websites on the internet and this nomination confirms it,” said a delighted Ian Whiteling, ER’s co-editor in chief. “The amazing aspect of all this is that we’ve achieved it with a very small team and limited financial resources. Whether we actually win the award or not, making the AOP shortlist, which is mainly populated by the giants of UK media, is a staggering achievement – particularly when you also consider that we are only 18 months old!”

The ER team will be waving the live marketing flag at the awards ceremony, which takes place on Wednesday 3 October at the London Hilton.
