Ian Whiteling has been asked to judge the Best Marketing Campaign among exhibitors at this year’s International Confex event taking place at London’s Earls Court from 12-14 February.

The winner will be honoured at the International Confex Awards held on the second day of the UK’s leading events industry trade show.

Whiteling is ideally placed to judge the category being both joint editor in chief of innovative live marketing web channel EVENTS:review, and director of design and communications agency Design and Print Centre.

“Effectively marketing your presence at a trade show is vital to maximise return on investment,” said Whiteling. “I’ll be looking for examples of campaigns that embrace the ethos of ‘nu-marketing’, using innovative techniques combined with rich content to successfully engage with the target market before and during the show.”

Embracing these new values, Whiteling’s agency has the ability to match a high level of creativity with audience engagement through rich, relevant content development and interactivity both online and in print, thanks to expertise in design, digital media and editorial.

“Gone are the days when an effective marketing campaign consists of placing a few creative ads in the press and on TV. Now content is king, to effectively engage and educate a target audience, adding value to their experience while grabbing their interest. Traditional advertising and marketing agencies don’t have the skills in place to deliver such campaigns. The new breed of agency built around interactive digital media, strong editorial content and live experience does.”
