Orange squash heads list of delegate dislikes

Cordials, like orange squash, are the bane of meetings and conference delegates, according to a recent study by events agency Conference Care.

Following research with its corporate clients, Conference Care polled delegates to see what the greatest "meeting moans" were. More than 500 delegates responded with concerns ranging from uncomfortable chairs and poor lighting in meeting spaces to lousy coffee at break-time. Top of the meeting moans agenda came cordials that had clearly seen better days.

In response to the feedback, Conference Care are launching a 'cordial amnesty' for the month of April. Hotels, venues and meeting spaces are invited to send in or deliver their unwanted cordials to Conference Care's offices, from where they will be duly disposed of.

"We did not expect cordials even to appear on the list but, when you think about it, they are simply syrupy messes that sit untouched for weeks, and in some cases years, in the corner of the conference room!" said Andrew Deakin, director of Conference Care. "It is our intention to rid the UK of the blight of conference cordials."
