The divisional managing director of Milton Keynes-based marketing services group, Motivcom plc, which owns international event agencies P&MM, AYMTM and Zibrant, has been voted the most influential individual in the UK events industry for a second year.

Nigel Cooper was ranked number one in the Power 50 list of key industry figures.

Cooper is recognised as an industry authority on the subject of developing, directing and implementing large-scale events and travel programmes. The industry publication Conference & Incentive Travel magazine asked readers to nominate those they felt had made a significant contribution to the industry over the past 12 months, giving the person's name and a rationale for their choice. A panel of judges from across the industry then reviewed the nominations and voted for their top performers to create the Power 50 list for 2008.

On achieving this recognition, Cooper commented: "I'm extremely honoured to have been thought of in such high regard for a second time. This is a great industry which I'm proud to be a part of, and I look forward to giving my best for many years to come."

This accolade comes after Cooper was awarded the coveted Outstanding Achievement Award at the annual Eventia International Awards in February 2008 – an initiative recognising excellence across the breadth of the events industry.
