The UK high-street retailer, which combines the HMV and Waterstone’s
brands, has appointed Inntel to provide a company-wide booking service
for hotel accommodation, conferences and business travel. The
three-year deal is worth £1.75 million and spins off the successful
relationship that Inntel has nurtured with Waterstone’s over the past
two years.
“We are really proud to add HMV Group to our
growing portfolio of retail clients, and having worked with the
Waterstone’s brand for the last couple of years, we already have a
unique understanding of the company’s priorities,” said Douglas
O’Neill, Inntel managing director. “Like many of our clients, HMV Group
found us through personal recommendation, underlining the success of
our customer service-focused business strategy.”
Meanwhile,
Paul Barker, procurement manager at HMV Group, sited Inntel’s
performance for Waterstone’s as a major factor in the company’s
decision. “Inntel has provided Waterstone’s with an exceptionally good
service over the past couple of years, and therefore we had no doubt
that the agency would be the best service provider for the group,” he
said. “By initiating our move to a single source group agreement,
Inntel has already helped our business to make massive cost savings.”
The
HMV deal follows Inntel’s recent success at winning £600,000 worth of
business from MFI to provide a company-wide venue and business travel
finding service for hotel accommodation, conferences and business
travel for the UK retailer.
