A new events staffing operation has been launched by experiential agency Carbon Marketing, following the company’s recent success in this area. Union will be managed by staffing director Emma Gordon-Rae (below), and will offer clients all manner of field marketing personnel, from merchandisers to retail demonstration staff, actors, models and those with theatrical specialities.

Union backs its claim to offer better quality field personnel by revealing that it rejects 25 applicants for every successful addition to its 6,000 strong database. The operation’s campaign delivery is enhanced by a £200,000 investment in ‘Darwin’ – the best of breed software with which it manages field personnel, benefiting clients and staff alike with features such as SMS capability for real-time communication. Meanwhile, Union’s client service is built around an account management structure designed to parallel that of creative agencies.

Union is particularly proud of the emphasis it places upon long-term staff training. “The term brand ambassador is bandied around far too readily these days,” said Gordon-Rae. “Union will spend the necessary time, effort and money to stream personnel with the requisite qualities into an integrated training programme, transforming jobbing field staff into true brand ambassadors from which clients may select core, longer-term teams. Our clients will benefit from better quality brand experiences while our management structure will ensure an excellent service experience throughout.”
