The Belgium MPI named THA Group’s Belgian counterpart, THA Nikitra, Planner of the Year 2006 at its recent gala dinner and awards ceremony held at the San Marco Village in Antwerp.

The awards seek to recognise and reward professionals in the meetings industry, and this year’s event was attended by 90 MPI members, non-members and invited international guests.

THA Nikitra fought of stiff competition from two other agencies to win the accolade. Commenting on the achievement, Kevin Ingram, chairman and chief executive of THA Group, said: “For our Belgian counterparts to have won such a prestigious award is excellent news, and comes almost a year to the day since THA won three Gold and the overall Platinum Award at the 2006 ITMA Awards. It is a good start to the year and further supports our strategic objectives of being a major player in the industry. Above all else, I am extremely pleased for Tina and the team in Belgium who thoroughly deserve this award.”

This year’s newly named ITM awards will take place at Grosvenor House, London on 2 February. EVENTS:review will be there talking to the winners and organisers for a video special to be screened during February.
