Tate Modern has become one of the latest London venues to join Unique Venues of London (UVL), highlighting the organisation’s growing stature within the industry.
UVL sets itself up to showcase and celebrate London’s diversity and capacity to host all manner of events. Currently its membership stands at 62, and its venues on offer range from the small and intimate, like Wellington Arch and the Leighton House Museum, to the Natural History Museum and The Royal Opera House.

A stunning addition to the UVL roster of venues
Charlotte Reeves, chairman of UVL and director of corporate relations at Somerset House, said: “We are delighted that Tate Modern has become a member of UVL, the addition of such a well-known and well-loved venue will further strengthen the UVL brand and ensure that we can continue to offer event planners the most exclusive and prestigious venues in the capital.”
Clare Hubery, corporate events officer at Tate, said: “As the newest member of UVL, we are looking forward to a busy and successful 2007. The Tate Modern’s recently opened East Room is a dramatic space which has sheer glass walls on three sides giving guests fantastic views across the Thames. Tate Mordern’s prime river location means it can truly offer something unique to every event organiser.”
On top of this UVL has said that it will be unveiling its new website on stand L101 at International Confex (20-22 February, Earls Court, London). The new website allows buyers to search venues by capacity making it quicker and easier for organisers to find a venue which matches their needs. It also has details of London’s leading event suppliers including caterers and production companies.
