The River Thames offers a stunning backdrop for event organisers, all the way from Richmond to Greenwich. In fact, you could say it’s one of the most under-used assets for the events industry in the capital. Visit London certainly appears to think so as it has joined forces with Silver Fleet – Woods River Cruises to lure even more event organisers to the capital.

The partnership between the two organisations sees the launch of a guidebook, entitled Your Guide to Organising Events On and Around the River Thames, which targets both international and domestic event and meeting planners. The guide will will provide invaluable information for event organisers on how to make the most of the river as well as offering some insightful case studies and itineraries.

Zanine Adams, Visit London’s UK sales manager, said: “The River guide will inspire event planners to make the most of the Thames and create events that are truly unique. A day spent along the river could start with an invigorating London RIB Voyages trip, include a spot of ice skating at Somerset House and finish with dinner aboard HMS Belfast. Even the most seasoned business traveller is guaranteed to see London from a new perspective.”

Tom Woods, managing director of Silver Fleet added: "Silver Fleet are delighted that an inspiring, definitive guide to entertaining on the Thames, which reflects the style and service that is now available. I cannot think of a better way to launch Silver Fleet's 60th anniversary year than encouraging new clients to try the most dynamic and beautiful events setting London has to offer."

Your Guide to Organising Events On and Around the River Thames will be showcased on the Visit London stand (L200) at International Confex (20-22 February, Earls Court, London) and at a launch event on Silver Fleet – Woods River Cruises’ cruiser The Silver Barracuda on 21 February 2007.
