NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau has extended its offering with the addition of two new venues based in Sunderland – The Argent Business and Conference Centre and the National Glass Centre.

“In NewcastleGateshead we’re lucky to have such a huge variety of venues in stunning locations right on our doorstep,” said Jessica Roberts, head of business tourism at NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau. “The addition of these two unique venues in Sunderland means we can give organisers access to first class conference facilities across North East England”.

State of the art: The Glass House in Sunderland

The Argent Business and Conference Centre offers a variety of offices and conference spaces, a reception and Eauzone, a handy bistro by day and a high class bar and restaurant by night. The fully trained and professional staff manage and deliver all office requirements and provide a fully inclusive delegate package. Facilities in all conference and meeting rooms include audiovisual equipment, high speed internet connectivity and high definition plasma screens supported with smartboard technology, video conference facilities and fixed audio systems and induction loops.

Meanwhile, the National Glass Centre offers easy access to public transport as well as free parking. All conference suites are fully accessible and equipped with the latest AV technology, including overhead digital projector and laptop computer.  Most public areas are equipped with wireless internet access.  The venue's ‘rooms with a view’ can accommodate groups as small as two or as large as 250 in any of its four purpose-built conference suites. The award-winning Throwingstones Restaurant offers excellent catering facilities and is also available for evening hire.

The National Glass Centre and the Argent Conference and Business Centre have added to the Convention Bureau’s extensive portfolio of unusual and unique venues such as The Alnwick Garden and The Sage Gateshead.
