Fresh from taking a stand against the might of the oil industry (see Events agency snubs oil giant over green stance and Ian Irving: Self-confessed petrolhead goes green) Tim Waygood’s MotivAction is launching three “pioneering” environmental motivation events in an attempt to raise awareness of climate problems within big businesses. The events will Incorporate team-building challenges and creative tasks alongside facilitated seminars and eco-auditing. The products target a full audience spectrum – from senior decision makers to lower level team members.
The aim is not just to about building awareness, as the events aim to engage others in the climate problem and encourage positive action. On top of this, MotivAction’s ‘green event policy’ means all events now have costs for carbon offset options included in every proposal.
“Climate change is here, it’s happening today. These events will help businesses to educate. With education and engagement, there will be the impetus to make necessary and achievable changes,” said Waygood.
After implementing its own carbon neutral project, the communication, education and events organisation is now hoping to influence other companies to follow the same path. To reach this objective, MotivAction is arranging a free environmental seminar for business leaders on 19 June. The seminar, held at The Commonwealth Club, will invite many of MotivAction’s clients and business contacts to learn about actions the company has taken to reduce its carbon footprint, as well as to listen to a selection of environmental expert speakers and be introduced to MotivAction’s new ‘green events’.
