Conference Care, one of the UK’s leading hotel booking agencies, is to launch what it claims is the most comprehensive statistics for the UK’s conference and event sector.

The meeting, incentive, conference and event (MICE) sector, said to be valued at £15 billion, has seen an unprecedented increase in profile within procurement departments seeking to manage expenditure and from hotels, training centres and unique venues all looking to capitalise on revenues.

The statistics produced from Conference Care’s bespoke management reporting tool reflect bookings from the UK’s major corporations and SICs, including financial, pharmaceutical, government and retail. Published on a monthly basis the statistics will draw information from group hotels, independent hotels, academic venues, dedicated training centres and unique venues.

The information will offer a detailed analysis into:
– 8 and 24hr rates
– Conference rates by key UK destination
– Conference rate forecasts
– Lead-in times for events
– Conversion times
– Key day/month

Conference Care’s analysis and commentary is backed by industry commendations, being named Conference and Incentive Travel Magazine’s Agency of the Year in 2006 and Visit London’s preferred venue finding agency, along with over a decade’s statistics and reporting. And while hospitality consultants afford information on average room rate, occupancy and room yield, the data available on conferences and events has been limited. Therefore, Conference Care confidently claims that the statistics are set to become the industry benchmark for procurement and travel departments, hoteliers and venues and the UK’s regional conference office bureaus.

“We have worked hard to create an IT infrastructure that will support the management information that our clients want and we are now utilising the figures for the MICE sector as a whole,” said Conference Care’s co-director Andrew Deakin. “We are often asked for our opinion when hoteliers are considering a building or expanding their properties and we intend these reports to become a benchmark for developers, investors and hoteliers alike.”
